Description

Love & Compassion, a book to be a human and make a career

– Holding any book in hand, I usually have to determine which field it belongs to: politics, military, economy, culture, science, literature, art… to find the right distance for reading. approach…

Holding Love & Compassion, according to that habit, I don’t know which box to put it in. Looking at the name of the author Ha Huy Thanh, it is a strange name. But reading the book’s table of contents, I see that these are not strange stories, not only for me but also for many people. Then don’t worry about the genre. A 13-chapter index, sticking to the title and suitable for the development of ideas, addresses the theme of love as a major pillar of human life, and also what is lacking at the present time. point now.

Love together with compassion has a long history associated with the existence of humans, mankind. Without it is not only unhappiness but also destruction. Let’s go on a journey with the author to find out what love is, what to do to have love; and the role of love in creating happiness for each person in particular and human communities, from family to society in general.

An implementation of ideas that is logical and dialectical, and convincing to me – someone who has had a lot of personal experience with that story, and I believe will also be interested by many people, including the young friends.

According to the author, the principle of love & compassion, is a triad, including understanding (self, others and the situation), sharing, and creating solutions. A complete triad should be understood as a practice, not a doctrine but a practice.

The next concern is the relationship between love and wealth and happiness, across the two basic areas of family and work. After the above two contents is the experience of that lesson through the history of the Vietnamese nation, and from there finding the key to the global problem…

Upward is a summary of the content of 13 chapters of the book with only 150 small pages titled Love & Compassion by an author of the first generation 8X young entrepreneur class, as I later learned. A young man is very confident in his opinion, because it is both his experience and knowledge; The experiences and knowledge of the age have passed the “three decades of life” and are moving towards the “unorthodox four decades”.

Through the book, it is not a memoir, but it still gives me a glimpse of the author’s childhood and life in the countryside of Ha Tinh (my compatriot), with a large family with a father from a veteran to a city in Vietnam. businessman, mother is a teacher, has two brothers and a small family with his wife and two daughters; and his associates at work. A few more details: he failed college twice (thanks to two years of reading) and recently he used his smartphone to write this book on airplanes, in his bedroom, and in coffee shops…

All of these contribute to outline a successful career portrait at the present time; and through what is explained and summarized in the book, he is trying to send the young generation important messages, in his own way, for personal success and the common prosperity of the country.

Thus, for me – Love & Compassion is an easy to read and useful book, because of the brief presentation such as the formula, the contents or the highlights: After the 3 principles of love (mentioned above) are 4 foundations. power nails: healthy body, balanced emotions, clear mind, strong spirit; are two goals: giving and being grateful; are 8 human needs (according to Maslow); is a 5-step process: thoughts, actions, habits, character, fate; These are the 6 qualities of the Vietnamese people: adaptability, respect for rules, neutrality, heroism, spirit of sacrifice, solidarity…

I agree with the author’s clear and confident way of thinking; As for the content with its right proportions, or to what extent is the consensus, I believe Ha Huy Thanh will have a way to adjust and supplement on her very long life path. Reading Love I am also happy to think with you – to agree, supplement, or disagree, thereby widening the boundaries of understanding. For example: I really like an idea of the East-West distinction (of a certain scholar, I forgot): effort on the one hand, ability on the other. In the East (including Vietnam) for a long time in poverty and war, everyone has to make every effort (with diligence to compensate for intelligence), only to be able to survive (live – die) and escape poverty. full – hungry). And that is the story of my generation from 1945 to the end of the twentieth century, after 3 wars, and after 3 great famines!.

As for the West, which is the homeland of the slogan: Freedom – Equality – Charity; where the individual human being was liberated very early along with the bourgeois revolutions and the establishment of capitalist society over the centuries, it is human capacity that is the primary concern. And with capacity, it is no longer a matter of escaping poverty but of getting rich. Rich – is the goal for life; rather than sharing hunger equally for everyone. And that is the story of generations after 8X in the context of Globalization, Information Age and Revolution 4.0 today.

Read Love & Compassion, I believe in a history-savvy young generation to never be cut off from history; have a sober view in all comparisons, from micro to macro, both as infinite, as infinite as Man himself – a great product of Nature, or Creation. Reading Love & Compassion, I have comforted, or compensated for, the pessimism about today’s situation with the degradation and destruction of humanity, which was almost absent or nonexistent in the past. During the war (30 years, or 40 years) we had “Forever 20 years old” by Nguyen Van Thac and “Diary of Dang Thuy Tram”. Peacetime – if counting from 1975 (also more than 40 years), we need to multiply the love, as a starting point and also a goal for the 30-year-old generation to start a business.

Finally, as a member of the Vietnamese Association for Kieu Studies, with Tales of Kieu and Literature of the Ten Kinds of Beings – as the greatest encyclopedia of love, I wish Nguyen Du – the great son of Vietnam and his homeland. Ha Tinh is also an inexhaustible source of knowledge and experience for everyone, including the author’s generation.
